🐍 Hope Faith Life Love

Faith, hope, and love are often intimately connected in Scripture (see 1 Corinthians 13:13). In Colossians 1:4-5 we find the same combination of faith, hope, and love: “We heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven” (emphasis added). First John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us.” And how did he first love us? Well, John says in 1 John 3:16, “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” So, Christian love is rooted in Christ’s sacrifice for me and for you. By this our sins are forgiven. The Theological Virtue of HopeSunday, December 5, 2021Second Sunday of Advent. Mystical hope offers us an experience of trust that God’s presence, love, and mercy is in and all around us, regardless of circumstances or future outcome. Father Richard Rohr writes of such hope through our anticipation of Jesus’ coming during Advent: Much has been written on this triad, but Moroni made it clear that these are not three things we must acquire but they are one thing with three aspects. They are not acquired individually but chain together inseparably. “if there must be faith there must also be hope; and if there must be hope there must also be charity.”. Moroni 10:20. Biblically speaking, Faith says whatever you are hoping for is here now. Hope says there is a chance of it happening sometime in the future. The Word tells us to Hope in the Lord, the Word tells us God has plans to give us Hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). But nowhere in the Bible does it say that Hope brought on a miracle from the Lord. Love Breeds Hope “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”—John 15:12. We place some of our hope in other people—family members, friends, coworkers, or neighbors. That feeling of hope and expectation brightens our life. And others are also placing some of their hope, trust, or confidence in you and me. Bill Peirson. The three fundamental virtues of the Christian life in this world are faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13). Faith and hope express our reliance on God in our incompleteness. We have faith when direct knowledge is lacking—the glass is dark—and we take God at his word for ‘assurance of what we do not see’ (Hebrews 11:1). Faith, Hope & Love: Directed by J.J.
